Can I take photos in the museum?
Non-flash photography for personal use is generally allowed in the museum’s exhibitions. However, photography may be restricted in some special exhibitions. Check with museum staff upon arrival.
Is the museum accessible?
Yes, the museum is fully accessible. Wheelchairs and other services for visitors with disabilities are available upon request.
Where can I park?
The museum has parking spots in front of the museum. There are also free municipal parking lots in the area surrounding us. Please refer to our directions page for more information.
How much is admission?
Admission fees vary by age and membership status. Check our website for current pricing. Free admission may be available for members or during special events.
What are the museum’s hours of operation?
The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00am - 5:00pm. Please check the website for holiday closures or special events that may affect operating hours.
Membership
How long does my membership last?
Memberships are valid for one year from the date of purchase, and auto-renewal options may be available.
Can I give a membership as a gift?
Yes, gift memberships are available. You can purchase them online or at the museum.
What are the benefits of being a member?
Membership benefits include free admission, discounts on museum programs, invitations to members-only events, and more.
How do I join or renew my membership?
You can join or renew your membership online, by phone, or in person at the museum’s visitor services desk.
I am not yet a CAM Member. How do I become one?
We’re excited for you to join the CAM community! You can create a new membership online or send us an email to info@coosartmuseum.org, or give us a call at (541 267-3901.
Events & Programs
Do you offer educational programs?
Yes, we offer programs for adults, families, and schools, as well as specialized workshops and lectures. Visit our education page for more information.
Can I host an event at the museum?
Yes, we offer rental spaces for private events such as weddings, corporate functions, and more. Contact development@coosartmuseum.org for details on availability and pricing.
Do you offer tours?
Yes, the museum offers a variety of tour options including guided tours, self-guided tours, and special tours for school groups.
What does it mean if a class is labelled a “CAM Kids & Art” program?
“CAM Kids & Art” is a special designation given to children’s art education classes. All materials needed to participate in the class will be included in the class fee.
I signed up for a class, but I just received notice from CAM that the class has been cancelled. Do I get a refund?
Yes. If Coos Art Museum management cancels the class, you will receive a refund check mailed to you within 7 to 10 business days.
Can I book classes online?
Yes. You can book online by visiting our online schedule and selecting the specific class for which you are wanting to register. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the booking form.
Do I get a special class rate if I am a Coos Art Museum Member?
Yes. Most class or workshop lists both a CAM Member and Non-Member price, and/or other special pricing options. Your Membership must be current at the time the class starts in order to participate at the reduced CAM Member rate.
Art & Exhibitions
How long should I plan for my visit?
Most visitors spend one to two hours exploring the museum, but you can stay as long as you'd like during open hours.
Can the museum appraise or authenticate artwork?
The museum does not provide appraisals or authentication services, but we can recommend professional organizations for these services.
What types of exhibitions are on view?
The museum features both permanent collections and rotating special exhibitions. Visit our exhibitions page for current and upcoming shows.
Miscellaneous
I booked online and paid the fee. What happens next?
You are all set!! Depending on the event, you may receive an additional email from us with more details.
So I have to pay with a credit card online?
Yes, online purchases must be made with a valid credit or debit card. However, if you'd like to pay with cash or check, you can do so by visiting Coos Art Museum in person during our open hours. We're located at 235 Anderson in downtown Coos Bay.
I wanted to book online but the web page says that the event is fully booked. Can I get on a waiting list?
Yes. You can be added to a waiting list for any events by calling (541) 267-3901 or emailing info@coosartmuseum.org.
I am interested in specific event I heard about on the radio. Are there any spaces available?
For the most current number of spaces available for a particular event, please visit our online schedule and select the specific event for which you are wanting the information. Scroll to the tickets section at the bottom of the page; information regarding the number of space(s) left is listed there.
I signed up for a class series with five sessions, but I can only make it to some of them. Can I get the cost of the missed classes deducted from the total or applied towards other classes?
No. We do not offer refunds if you are not able to take all the classes in a series. Refunds are only possible under the circumstances specified in the REGISTRATION & REFUND POLICY listed under each class description. Fee transfers to other classes or makeup sessions are also not permitted.
