Located in downtown Coos Bay inside a historic 1936 Art Deco post office, Coos Art Museum serves as the premier cultural center for visual arts on the Oregon Coast. Featuring seven distinct gallery spaces and up to 24 rotating exhibitions annually, we invite art lovers, families, and travelers to discover contemporary North American art and regional heritage.

Rotating Galleries & Permanent Collection
Explore our exhibition spaces, including the Maggie Karl Gallery and the Uno Richter Atrium Gallery, showcasing diverse mediums from regional and national artists. Our Permanent Collection exhibitions highlight our unique collection of artworks and archival materials that preserve the visual art history of Oregon’s South Coast.
Steve Prefontaine Memorial Collection
Housed on our second floor, this dedicated exhibition space honors Coos Bay legend and distance runner Steve Prefontaine, displaying rare memorabilia, awards, and personal artifacts.
Rental Sales Gallery & Museum Shop
Browse unique artwork created by coastal artists. Every purchase directly supports local creators and museum programs.
Location & Accessibility
Parking: Free public parking is available adjacent to the museum building along Anderson Avenue and 3rd Street.
Accessibility: Wheelchair-accessible entrances and elevator access to second-floor galleries ensure an inclusive experience for all guests.
Group Visits & Tours: Docent-led tours and educational group visits are available with advance booking.
We now offer Enchroma glasses for our color-blind patrons to use while visiting the museum.
